Shredding Hickory Trees
You can find Shredding Hickory Trees on the east side of the Chunky River in the Emerald Forest. They like to grow along the Iota Path.
These ancient trees have dense clusters of leaves. There are twenty three leaves in each cluster. The dark brown bark peels off in thick pieces.
The Shredding Hickory trees are so large that several adults holding hands cannot go around the base of the tree.
The Shredding Hickory Trees are where the Giant Sloths live. These trees are also home to the family of woodland fairies with the last name of Hickory. The Hickory fairies keep watch over the health of these trees and also take care of the Giant Sloths.
Peek-a-boo finches like to nest as well as play in these trees because of the dense clusters of the leaves.
Dragonhead caterpillars like to munch on the leaves and then spin their cocoons on the underside of the clusters. After a couple of weeks they emerge and become the beautiful Whisper Butterflies.
