Pop up Mushrooms
These mushrooms are dark green with bright green spots that glow. They live near trees on the east side of the Emerald Forest where there is more moisture and it is darker.
They only appear in the month of May when there is a new moon. They are extremely difficult to see from a distance because they blend in so well with the flora of the forest.
These mushrooms can sense the heat of living animals and humans and will pop back into the ground if they sense them.
When harvested, dried and ground into powder they have the ability to bond different chemicals together in order to create powerful magic. They are hunted and sought by Alchemists like Zane who lives in the Emerald Forest.
Warrior Kathleen and the Jadeites work hard to protect them from being taken out of the Emerald Forest but somehow they still appear in potions.
